I am that beauty queen
that you saw on the runway looking perfectly put together and gorgeous
with the slim and perfectly carved body
that has those sharp bones peeking through in all the right places
I am that bulimic beauty queen
that you overheard in the stall next to yours
retching and coughing and spluttering
trying to rid my body of the food and nourishment that I consider so impure
I am that broken down bulimic beauty queen
whose sweatshirt slid up as I washed my hands
so you saw all my pointy, sharp as knives ribs
that should have been hidden under a protective layer of flesh
I am that dead, broken down bulimic beauty queen
that you found yesterday,
passed out near the toilet
in a puddlde of vomit and blood
no longer the beauty queen you once thought I was

shows appearances can be deceiving and (maybe I am reading too much into it) that the struggle for perfection can be deadly. The result can be so far less than perfect.

Great
This is great, a sharp shock message entwined in verse. It leaves nothing to the imagination, it tells of everything, every detail. And I can relate so much to this, thank you for letting me read, and thank you for the submission!

Wow, I really like this, it's a very powerful poem. I can really relate, I am this girl also.
I love this part,
"retching and coughing and spluttering
trying to rid my body of the food and nourishment that I consider so impure" so true.
