Fall has come early
Most of the trees are bare
This old Barn is needy
It needs lots of repair
I know that it won't hold
Another year of hay
Nor will it keep the horses
Safe for another day
It's still part of the scenery
Standing there for many years
I think of all the fun we had
To bring it down will bring tears
I'll start tomorrow on the roof
With the help of one or two
A few new beams here and there
And a coat of paint will do
By the time the harvest is ready
This old barn will be good as new
It will hold the hay and horses
Also a wagon or two
Everything needed for a Hayride
Will be kept in this old barn
Including memories of yesterday
And all their golden charm
