Listening to your eyes
A song fills my mind.
The tune, lack-luster
Accompanying perfect pitch
Creates wonder and dispair.
A screaming ballad
Of want and wait,
Satisfaction and less.
True love
Or lustful intentions.
I ponder these thoughts,
As I search for your soul.
Longing to wrap my heart
Around who you are.
One hundred and eighty degree turns
Threw me into the fire.
What I once knew and loved,
Now tarnished soot.
Yet now I cannot pull
My gaze away from those windows.
Crystal blue windows,
Now in desperate need of a cleaning.
I saw you for who you were
And now I cannot seem to grasp
Your absence.
Are you still hiding behind your eyes?

Interesting write. Describes, to me, the feeling of having a lover, and knowing what he's hiding behind the mask he portrays so well. Lots of emotion and the wording is excellent. Good luck.
