Roses lie on the floor
now that you've walked out
you said you hate me at the door
and you made sure to shout
So here I sit at the stair
watching the snowflakes outside
through the door comes cold air
I plead and beg but it won't subside
Six wonderful months
have just been wasted away
I made a mistake and asked for forgiveness once
but you had to end it this very day
Now the sun begins to rise
over this cold white land
the light is far too bright
the door still open, there you stand
You pick up the roses
and bring me to my feet
you say i love you and I know this
but our love has walked away in defeat
Although you are a great friend
and we've been through alot
this is sadly the end
you've taken all I've got

beautiful use of the roses and love, some time i think what would've been the expression of Love without roses, yet white roses simple elegant and innocent. and the scene of those roses lying at the ground, wonderfuly done

I was thinking about entering this contest I think but I never did. I'm glad to see that you have pulled it off. roses are a facinating thing to write about. nicely done. and it told a story, that was really cool too.
