Intangible

Envision the infinitum of the universe.
It is not something that is easy to take in.
Think of a color that you have never seen before.
Might as well take another bitter pill.
Hold your breath- succession is compelled.
Imagine the day it isn't!
What's next?
What if...?
All you see is black and everything stops.
No thoughts, no dreams, ambitions, or goals.
Not even the sound of your hearbeating.
The life you once knew has slipped past you.
That's it.
Not what one would expect at all.
But when everything you know is all you know,
It is natural to not know what's next.

Author notes

I love this poem and the potential it has towards my readers. It is nice to read a poem every once in a while that makes you think and not want to cut yourself.
