My Immortal place

I will cast away my fears
and in my haste will not forget
those who tremble and fall.

With all my heart I will endure
and the flames that rush to scar your soul
will never leave its mark

I will without regret
protect and calm your child
and bring them home to you

And in my days of solitude
I will think of you and yours
and thank the grace that saved me
in times emortal place

See no photo here, but can imagine it if it is one of outer space - immense, breathtaking, awesome in it's own right. The poem reflects that endlessness, that soothing, floating carefree spirit of just going with the flow, of things going right and of the endlessness of eterrnity. Congratulations on placing in this contest. Must have had some great entries to top this one.

This is my favorite stanza. Those Hubble space photos sure are breathtaking to look at. This is a profound poem, filled to the brim with rich imagery. Don

This was soothing and pleasant to read yet... I think you can expand on this so we can really see and feel this place. Bring it alive!

      Many thanks

Thank you so much for reading this, for your honesty and helpful comments which I really appreciate. I'm sure I could expand it but I won't because I'm one of those people who once I start expanding it goes on and never gets finished and then I leave it for ever undone. What I have been trying to do all my life is to write something and leave it as it is even if I don't like it. So I do thank you for your help and I hope I haven't offended you by not taking up your suggestion.

      As you can see

I took my ispiration from the previous submission which is not what you wanted as I can see from the link you sent me which I have just checked out. I see what you mean when you say, the submission is not what is reflected by that artist.
Thank you for your comment but I too have not reflected the art and talent of this man.
