Moans of morning

At dawn,
nature grows a touch too tender;

Her petals pendulate
     (like paper aeroplanes),

from murmuring midnight

to moistening moans

          (of morning).

   She plays with dewdrops,

then resurrects

smoothness to mud

          and unfurling foliage.

    Nice piece. This is interesting, I have noticed most people's favorite or best writes are about love, but this is slightly different. I read this and see that it is still love, but it is of nature rather than a person (at least in context).

    This is lovely as it speaks of nature's fragility in early morning, the risk each unfurling blossom takes each day to smile it's radiance upon us. Simple and poignant. Congratulations on the silver it what was (I'm sure) a competetive contest. I hope to see this poem in Allpoetry Book 2. I have a poem under consideration myself. It's called e x i t p l a n - my darkest piece.

    This is really sweet. I especially love the ending - anticlimactic seems to be the fad now, but yours was...I don't know how to describe it. Strong, not really slowing down, but quiet. Great job.

    The alliteration here is smooth and beautiful.

    I love the ethereal simplicity of this poem-- it brings to mind a sense of sweet solitude in the early hours, watching the sunrise, perhaps.

    This is very soft and sensual look at the morning (possibly even veiled smuttyness, but that's probably just my mind at work).

    Good write.
