This heart was once a diamond
uncut in purity
raw and rare it shone so bright
radiating sincerity.
Yet etched it was
but not with care
all richness gouged,
deprived of lustre.
Now a hardened stone
devoid of passion,
surrounded within a
rugged quarry.
Unyielding is this warning
as it is bestowed sincerely to you
discover it's flaws and weaknesses
resistance will defy.
Endurance and protection
defies all opposition
cracked and broken once before
now cloaked with toughened shell.
