The End Of Sorrow

The twin brothers were known in the town for their unmatched poker skills. When they were young they played each other constantly for fun.But when they saw they had a genuine talent they made a living out of it.They abandoned all of life's sanctities in pursuit of success.

Once they were playing in a venue close to the territory of the 'Lords of Poker' as they were known in the town.Threatened by their abilities the 'Lords' sent them a challenge. They despatched four messengers with distorted owl-like faces to deliver the challenge. The brothers seeing a chance to prove their worth and acquiring a hefty price, accepted.

They followed the half-beaked messengers into the night,
To a place known as the 'Palace of Fright.'
For here poker players lost all they had.
There is one thing the 'Lords' never try-
To live, to love and to die.
But they had one passion
That gave them pleasure
Without due measure;
The ridicule of all foreigners that set foot in their 'palace'.

For the austere spirit naught is more amiss
Than the ridicule of the soul's bliss.

The twins had not been there long before they realized it was the intention of the 'Lords' to subject them to every manner of indignity. After going through a corridor whose walls were soaked with blood, they came to the main poker room where they saw various players lost in contemplation in the midst of a game.Thinking these were their hosts the twins went over to them to introduce themselves and when they went to shake their hands they got no response for they were mannequins!

This excited the jeers and laughter of the actual 'Lords' who emerged from the next room. They were invited to take their designated seats on the proper table, when they sat they found two red-hot coals on their seats which burned them on their behinds, to the grand amusement of the 'Lords'.

"Do you have the nerve
To deal with what reality has to serve?"
O reality you have become a simple curse word.
"We have nothing to lose
For this is what we choose."
Is there any liberty in your choice?
"We shall see how you waver when your heads hang down from the sky
Looking into your mothers wasted thigh."
These are the vulgarities of a freedom never questioned.

The untamed serpent has grown old
Weeping tears of bitter cold.

After hours of sweat and toil the twins won game after game, bleedin the 'Lords' dry of their hard-stolen money. After the 13th hour the twins were assaulted and beaten unconscious. They were then thrown into a small, ill-lit cell. When they awoke to the musty smell of dinginess they saw one of the owl-like messengers standing primitively before them. When he saw that they were fully awake he shot them both dead in cold blood with the emotion of a snake constricting its helpless prey.

Half-true to their word, the 'Lords' severed the twins' heads and locked them in a wine barrel that they placed in their maze-like, disused cellar.Never to be opened again.

Their tongueless mouths now cry:
"Hear us from the free sky;
We have a message to those who would dare tear off their shackles.
If you find us we will give you the sun and the moon
But first you must overcome the Age of Materialistic Doom.
For we were murdered not by criminals acting against the law
But by poor souls trapped in their hunger for more
Which was placed in them as soon as they opened society's door.
So find us and we will give you the keys to the future."

"For in the sun's rays there is the wisdom of foresight
And in the moon there is the serenity of the night."

"And with these in your hands you will come to know The End of Sorrow. The abolition of the time of change and the souls re-marriage with the spirit of the world."
