This is nothing less
than an insult, surely
to some unnamed divinity,
Hounds dispatched in vengeance,
fed on holy blood, scented
to the pulled throat of
heretics.
Horrid, rending, wilted, furious
lines
Letters and fliers
preaching eschatology
read as a quickened chronologies
of every human paranoia,
written in scratched,
fearful strokes.
"Hog's War"
"Fowl’s Putrid Breath"
"Blood Of All Life"
"Dread-Flowing Death"
Mastiff's bay,
rebounding circuit
of shattering pulse,
crack the tongue of doomsayers,
hounds emerge from the
corners of time
to rend and
wail an
gnash their teeth,
devour each day,
each hour,
seconds stretching in their power
shocks of fear
rebounded, reside
far behind the prophets
blind eyes,
leading them
to speak their lies
straight
to the chopping block.
Please tell me what you think

Oh, I love this poem. Forgive me I was just skimming through your stuff to see if anything else caught my eye, and I'm so glad this did. It's utterly terrifying and that's what makes it so amazing. I never thought I'd get nightmares from a poem but I just might. I'm lucky it isn't dark out here yet.

EEEEKK!!!! Scary hounds creeping fron the corners, I'll have nightmares forever and ever... well until I think about ALL the corners they could come out of. The poem itself is still frightening even without the hounds, because it just has this aura of hopelessness. That despite all your running and hiding, you can never escape what was meant to be and even worse you have no control of it. Your destiny is spiraled into this chaotic world and you just don't get a choice.
