You stand back in the shadows
As you watch her leave
She packs her bags in silence
Till there's nothing left to see
You hold your arms at your side
While she brushes by
You keep your lips tightly sealed
Determined not to ask why
You fight the urge to yell at her
To tell her how ungrateful she's been
Instead you merely stand there
As the friendship begins to thin
You supported her and held her up
When she needed you the most
But every time that you needed a friend
She was nowhere close
So you let her leave in silence
Not even saying goodbye
For a friendship lost at morning tide
Is not worth the tears you cry

Just some thought on the recent turn in the friendship of my best friend and me...
