It was just a glance.
But she though she saw him there,
She gently brushed back a lock of his hair.
She though he knew who she was, just for an instant.
It was just a glance.
But it brought back memories of years gone by,
Of family and friends and tears they had cried.
She thought he knew who she was, just for an instant.
It was just a glance.
But she lived a lifetime of his love,
She knew that he had been a gift sent from above.
She thought he knew who she was, just for an instant.
It was just a glance.
But her heart skipped a beat, like it did when they were young,
She remembered the way he made everything so fun.
And she thought he knew who she was, just for an instant.

So much sadness, one wonders how the heart can contain it, yet knows that in love all things are possible. You describe this well, the repetitions works to underscore the strngth of this peice. Awesome.
