I do not know how I love you

I do not know how I love you.
Maybe like the wind across a dandelion,
or like the freckles along a moon.
Aside the doors of my heart,
your laughter skirts silently
The wind is wet with memory.

Suns wail toward the countryside.
The hemlines of a village echo.
Sometimes your voice too. A mynah's grievance, maybe.
Oh, the sprays of dead sunshine.
The solo.

The dawn weeps with silence that is never unheard.
Even the woods are whispering.
Somewhere, the water breathes from words -
The hush is so precise.

I do not know how I love you,
I do not know how; my eyes become wet with your noise.
I do not know how I love you, amongst the pollen and precipice.
Sometimes, my words leave me like you do,
flying towards starry distances.
I see them soar in echoes of us.

Ever so slowly.

The cove grieves when morning swarms.
My eyes become seas, wailing to no purpose.
Longing wrestles the endless distances
like between the edges of my bed
and between my breasts.

Oh, the sky is thin again, it cries feathers of light.
The meadow is empty of lush, black hair.
And as I do not know how I love you,
the morning does not know to cease,

amongst the suns
and pale mimosas.

Ah, the Neruda tone was so evident in the poem
But tell you what, Namita, I've gone through a lot of your poems today...and at times, you exceed Neruda (this, coming from someone who's literally worshiped his Don Pablo)
You have a lot of poetry in you..a lot of images inside you, and the right words to capture them! Best of luck.

It seems to be very sweet. It didn;t really hold my interest though. On a scale from one to ten I'd give it a 7. Thank you for entering my contest and good luck!!!

    Beautiful!

Oh my... this is simply beautiful... so very moving, my friend. I could hear and see the voice of Neruda... that gentle nostalgia and sensuality that's so characteristic of his poetry... and yes, (and this makes me smile in capital letters) - I could see and hear and feel my own voice too.

I do not know....how to describe this poem and I do not know which stanza or line to pick as my favourite. I love the way this poem begins... and I absolutely adore the ending - and everything inbetween the dandelion and the pale mimosa!!!

You are such a talented poet - I am in awe - of you and of this poem. Didn't I tell you earlier that you're a >>> yes, this is stellar poetry!!!! Thank you... at least I did one good thing to day>>>> inspiring a poem like this!!
