Caves of darkness and artificial light
Cold emotion distracts musings of insight
Until another day
Another path, another way
To discover the life in the midst of winter nights
Words that breathe like silk beneath the stars
Whose beauty is so hidden, none know who they are
But still they wait
For love to come and conquer hate
To redeem the pure and beautiful who have fallen away so far
Look on the moon, see how it shines
If only he was closer I could reach out and make him mine
But he stands among the brilliant
Next to her I know I won't, I can't
Compare. For who can win the moon, an object so divine?
Lost inside this hopeless winter fantasy
Snowflakes freezing tears as the world falls down around me
How can sadness be so pure
How could I have been so sure?
Nothing is solid, life keeps falling to open my eyes to see
Tall trees so heavy, eyelashes cast down
All has been frozen, I'm lost but they've found
Quiet, the still in the soul
Discovered the secret that makes the once broken whole
And so I fall, ready to break but only slip right through the ground. . .
Winter, break me.
