Things

Things would always be as they are
In the past I could not see this far
The sun is a fine gold piece
The dark is away

For all I knew we were having fun
Now knowing all the things I have done
I would rather of not made the mistakes
Still it is a new day

I once had a friend who was just like me
Before I knew who I wanted to be
Then I changed what I was
I stopped the devil at work

I do not walk in the streets of the damned
There is nothing but death in Lucifer's plan
I will not visit hell
In this very city they lurk

I speak of the things that are here in this world
That seek to kill every boy and girl
The evil took her to her grave
I made my escape

Soon I would find that peace of mind
Is something to keep and hard to find
This thing called a heart still hurts
Though it tries not to hate

I would have alot of things to say
We will have time to speak some day
In heaven
For there was no hell left for you

Till then I'll make sure to use what I've learned
Still it all seemed like something you did not deserve
But these things are the way they are
There is nothing anyone can do

Yeah we had a good time,the kind that can't last
We had the same problem,and had alot of laughs
Now your free ,to late I see
What some of it must have been like

These things I know,things always change
Can't put all that foreighn stuff in your brain
Not if you really want to feel good
And feel alright

Let everybody else know I wish I could see 'em
I guess God just thought it was time to free 'em
They're not things with no names
That broke the law and always stayed high

Yeah,my friends are up top where the party don't stop
One day,who knows when,when I finally drop
I'll arrive in the clouds reunited
THAT THING IN THE SKY
