I know I wrote about the tree
That was beckoning to me
To place my arms around its base
Where I could see its face
It would whisper in my ear
Only then I could hear
The stories of its past
Some, I wish would last
Sometimes it cries out
While others mingle about
No one seems to listen
Too hurried and on a mission
I guess that makes me a tree hugger
As I see it, a tree lover
Because I feel it most
Leaning into its post

*high five*
finally, someone who gives a damn about the enviornment. Nice poem, glad to see there are still people who care

This was an interesting read I must say. It has a great flow and you can tell that you really have a passion for trees, which is actually really good to see someone caring about something like the enviroment for a change (with everyone "going green.") This is probably the first poem I've read about the enviroment or trees. My absolue favorite part is:
"Sometimes it cries out
While others mingle about
No one seems to listen
Too hurried and on a mission"
It really shows that some people are to busy to take in the sights of the trees and really take time to appreciate them because their lives are too "busy." This poem really made me think.
Thank you for entering and good luck in my contest.

Welcome To AllPoetry
Well written message! I love trees and have always looked at the old ones wondering about the stories they could tell. The history they have seen. This is a wonderful poem.

Thank you for this one, it is one of my most favorite poems I've written. I try to hug a tree a day.
