I wake slow to the sound
of the Mockingbird’s song
slowly sifting through
night’s swift dreams,
where your lone
shadow lingers
awaiting the dawn of
inspiration’s sweet light.

Author notes
... I often watch the day dawn from my porch overlooking the river. Many a poem comes from the thoughts that I pondered over during my dreams.

Fresh and heavenly. Poems come from different things around us and it is the beautiful sight that often inspires a poet. I wish I have a porch overlooking the river. Again, this is lovely. Thank you for entering.

Oh morning is my favorite time of day. And, I too, find inspiration in those quiet moments alone with my thoughts and coffee. Best of luck in the contest.
Sincerely,

This is as lovely and fresh as the dawn you write about. A definite pleasure to read.
