This crazy thing called life
I’d been through all the hoops
Had a grip, no regrets, no strife
Then out of the blue it hit me
Took away my modesty and pride
Left me with frustration
And weird feelings inside
This definitely wasn’t in my plans
Plans I’d strived for all these years
Now put on the back burner
Too frustrated even for tears
But I’ll be back to normal soon
The doc says I’m gonna win
So don’t count me out just yet
I’ll be back on the prowl again
And I’ll be counting my blessings
Each and every day from now on
No stroke, major or otherwise
Can keep me down for long
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suffered a stroke and am doing okay now but
we really don’t know what’s around the corner.
So count your blessings and take care of yourself.
You can bet I will be from now on. I was fortunate,
thanks to Sal’s quick thinking I was being treated
at the hospital less than half an hour of him calling 911.
The stroke I had was not a minor stroke and I'm left with some disability on my right side which the doctor says is permanant but at least I can walk and do most things, just with some difficulty. I'm fortunate, many are not. So please, take care of your body, get regular checkups, eat healthy and excercise. It can mean the difference between a normal life or damage to your system, even death.
I realise i'm way behind the news Dee but i'm so sorry to hear of your stroke, though very pleased that quick-thinking (whilst ignoring you) Sal was there with you at the time. Good to write about this too - your positive attitude is shining bright. Von xx
Wow.
I am glad that now you are fine.
And definitely this picture is hillarious.
And again, you are very right,
we ought to complaint less
and count our blessings with joy..
because we never know when we are going down.
Amazing. Sounds like you are able to look to the good things in life. That's a wonderful attitude to have and I wish you well. Love the title of this poem. Great inspiring words.
Dear Dee,
We never know what fickle Fate
for us may have in store
or what misfortunes may await -
the wisest can't be sure.
False fortune tellers may divine
from cards or crystal balls
a horoscope that sounds quite fine
but seldom true befalls.
But life is better if enjoyed
without the future feared
yet, like the Scouts, do not avoid
but ALWAYS BE PREPARED!
With applause for your poem, prayers for your rapid and complete recovery, sympathy for Sal and
Love and hugs as always, XXX Hugh.
Dear Dee, they can't keep you down sweetie, you will pounce back on our screens and we'll yell "Catz is BACK YAAAY!" I know you'll beat it and very true, we should never take life for granted as we really don't know what's round the corner.
Love Joan
