My life until now-
has been preamble
an overture
to your soft humming
as you
Kick off your shoes
and dive under the quilts.
Twisted and threadbare
the sheets stretch over us
A canvas-
Our night sky
I linger over freckles
and scars
You are my constellation
Trace my horoscope
down your spine,
Winding a finger
along each imperfection,
along each scar I left
and the empty spaces
where I will surely leave more
oh capricorn,
I’m not worth
The red welts
Blooming across your arms.
