You lied without intention
and it hurt.
A small caveat
could have saved me
salts and water and stains.
So I am sorry if now
I am skeptical.
I take all you say
with a grain of salt
(slowly replacing what I have lost).
And maybe the hole
in my trust
will never be healed
one grain at a time,
but for now
it is all I can do.
My brain cries let it go!
My heart whispers
better skeptical than sad.
You know which speaks louder.
Author notes
It was the smallest thing, he thought he would be able to take me away one a certain day, but he hadn't finished his essay by then, he knew he might not but he didn't tell me.
Now I just can't trust he will be ready to leave when he says he will, maybe one day I will, but not yet.
Sorry for the continuing legal themes people.

Does it mesh together? Inconsistancies and bits that don't fit please.

this is a beautiful poem. it really demonsrates how even the smallest rock can leave a huge buise. i really love the first and last stanzas. they are very powerful and set the tone of the poem.
