It's okay to be fake

The sweet sensation of the tangy fruit flavor
Emanating from the jiggly canned form,
Though not a drop of real substance
Echos from the sucrosed and dyed spread.
Yet,
I swoon at the taste of the artificial cranberry
The jellied slices mingling ever so well
With my dark meat.
'Tween my father and I,
One whole can is devoured
Speckles of red showing from our turkey and taters.
I adore its sweet falsity
My only fake love,
And I will forever treasure this
Over the real red Crans.

Author notes

I'll the fake cranberry jelly over real cranberries any day!

^_^

I love this! But, in all truth, don't we "ALL" go through this "love affair" only on this special day?

    Thanks for the chuckle!
