waves on jetty lifeboat runs aground.
Harsh storms of life I did not fair well,
tempest brewed as the sea did swell.
Hopes and dreams overboard in storm,
no time for rescue nor to fore warn.
In dark shadows cast prayer is heard,
repeating verses of good book's word.
Water looks deepest dark in the night,
soon there's a glimmering ray of light.
Prayers have been answered so it seems,
briney deep has not dashed my dreams.
Daybreak is dawning so gently kissed,
with heavenly beauty and sunshine mist.
Tempest disappears without a trace,
sheltering harbor found with God's grace.
Author notes
Have mercy on me, oh God have mercy! I look to you for protection. I shall hide beneath the shadows of your wings until this violent storm is past. Psalm 57:1

loved the flow of this one. God is in charge of all things, though He allow things to happen until he changes things.

Beautiful and powerful message Sandy. When we seem to run ashore he is always there to guide if we just stay focused. Very uplifting and beautiful reminder of his love. Best wishes in the contest.

Ahhh... the poems get better and better today. This one is more light and airy, probably not so full of tension as some I've read lately. I thin you nailed the quote prompt for this contest. Well done.

Wonderful Comment
Hello Michael,
Well your comment was very nice and I am so glad you enjoyed this poem. The quote seemed to fit my mood that day. I was really hurting. So my feelings came out in these words. It seems when I am about to give up on my faith someone helps me find my love for God again. You have done that many times too my dear friend.
Thank you. I will always be grateful for all the knowledge you give me on my questions about my faith and the Bible. You are a Godsent to a novice like me. Sometimes I am drowning in my tears and then like magic, POOF God sends me someone to help me get over my sorrow. He is an amazing and loving God. Yes we can always turn our dark sad clouds into rainbows. It may not always be possible and we may need some help but thats where true friends come and pick you up. Thank you for being a sweet special friend and being there through many tears. Always here for you. Thank you for this wonderful heartfelt comment. Your thoughts mean so very much to me and always will. Hugs and Smiles.
Always, Sandy
And thank you for bringing me my much needed rainbow with your beautiful rainbow poem you wrote for me. It was as beautiful as a rainbow.
God Bless you my sweet friend.

Where do I miss these great contests. My dear, you have so brought to mind the song"The Haven of Rest" in my mind, and "Peace Be Still"old hymns of the church. How vividly and emotionally with great flow you bring rest and peace at last as the storm subsides with the dawn and home to shore, none lost, arrive...How characteristic of our Protector God whose Son...Said ....Fear Not, and Peace BE STILL!....wonderful sis!
