Catch a cloud in a jar
And watch it dissolve.
Condense to the sides,
Then drip to the bottom.
That is what you have become -
A spectre of splendour
Left to wander;
Ghost in these halls.
Feet make no sound, barely a gasp
Escapes the barely parted lips.
The smell of grandeur past, failed bravado
Would you like notice my dear?
Then take note now.
The rays from the moon shall penetrate you
The dust particles having gathered and swarmed and formed your pathetic form.
Degradingly elating
How i can wave a mere hand.
And watch you scatter.

I love the first several lines of this poem. They are full of imagery. The ending has a powerful, almost guilty pleasure feel to it. Great write, thank you for entering the contest. Good luck.
