Let Live

A mother of 21
her life on it's ultimate high
realizes with horror
that she's got a baby growing inside.

She panicks, of course
why now?
she's too young for this child
she can't let it stay.

Having this child
would mean no more late parties
and she'd gain so much weight
who'd want her then?

Having this child
would mean holding responsibilities for once
and could she bring herself to do this?
Of course not, she's too -young-.

An age old excuse
but still
she goes to the clinic
with her head held high.

"I'm doing the right thing."
she assures herself
"It's my life. It's my child,
I'll do what I damn well please."

People stand by
watching her
watching them
and they yell and scream.

"How could you do this
to a child?
How could you take away
a life that's not rightfully yours?"

"This child will miss out
on a life it never had a chance to live.
You slut. You whore; you should be the one
with their life being taken."

This child deserves better
This child deserves to live
and who are you to say otherwise?
You have got to let live.

And yet, she doesn't listen
and goes inside, lays on the table
and has the young child killed in her womb
then sucked out through a tube.

She didn't listen.
And a child lost it's life
that it didn't even get to live.
She should've, but she didn't, let live.
