Handle With Care

I am a piece of china
about to fall off a shelf
and shatter into a million pieces
Your simple touch
paints black and blue flowers
on my delicate and translucent skin
My body is too thin
bones are too brittle
voice is too soft and hoarse
I have seen too much,
felt too much
been through too much
Screams have echoed in my ears
punches have ricocheted of my small body

the memories in my head

are weakening my fragile soul

Please

Handle me with care

I find myself in this poem, I love the "toos". nothing is ever good enough in this world, too fat too thin, nothing ever inbetween, never perfect...

Oh! I know that feeling. We used to be familiar friends. People often thing I am still a fragile thing. All because they care ... but it can get annoying, sometimes

that is indeed how we feel at times, like being left alone for fear of being broken or cracked in pieces. emotions are hard to protect when others act carelessly. a good poem on what fragile feelings can make us feel.
