I lie on the ground waiting for my beloved,
though I know he cannot come,
for he is long gone,
the pain in my heart is unbearable,
the knowledge that he won't return,
I look out though the window,
the glass shatter's,
I hear the screams of the wounded outside the castle.
I know the pain that the other's must be going though,
I'm the last on left but I cannot seem to force myself up.
I look back at the body across the room,
he was dead there was nothing I could do to ease that pain.
As I step towards the bed,
a shard of glass enters my foot,
I start to bleed
the crimson stain spreads as I continue to come towards him.
they tried to stop the bleeding but they wer to late.
....
they found her next to him,
both were gone she had lost the will to fight, to live.

Great story, touching and tragically romantic. It does need some work on spelling and tense (some is in past, some is in present), so that makes the read harder to follow and not was enjoyable, though still a great story.
You won silver, congrats!
Write on!

Some think that a broken heart does not kill but those are the ones who do not believe in love. When we loose all we hold dear the will to live ends and the body gives up. This piece shows that fully.
