This Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving

The greatest gift, is to be able to give,
and giving to others is a way to live.
By sharing your wealth it will bless your life,
so help other souls that are burdened with strife.

Keep this in prayer as husband and wife,
remember the turkey and carving knife
were given to you that’s why it’s there.
So bow your head and give thanks in prayer.

Some people have troubles that they cannot bear
and the holidays make them, even more aware.
This coming Thanksgiving let’s follow a creed,
extending our blessings to someone in need.

Give unto others and do a good deed,
this coming Thanksgiving just intercede.
Help one another it’s time to forgive.
The greatest gift is to be able to give.

I feel like I have been to dinner here!

Green bean casserole and stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and all that! You really got me in the mood all over again! Well said and beautifully penned, dear poet! Inspiring!

Well, it would be kind of hard to be iambic with odd numbers of syllables now wouldn't it? Ha ha ha.

Great use of the form with powerful image. Three more bunnies for you.

Awwwww, Cubbie, you have such a soft heart like your Dad. This is really sweetly written like frsh cranberries and hot mashed potaos with gravy. a true homey feeling. You know, I too give and give and give, but one has to accept the fact that sometimes there are those whom one gives to that are incapable of giving back, even in an emotional sense.

However, in the past few days, from two wonderful and loving ladies, I have gotten more back than I ever could have dream of personally. And what will I do for them at Christmas? For each I am picking one young boy and one girl from our Christmas tree Angels this year at work, ones who would not have a christmas otherwise, and donating presents in their names.

And know what? I'm going back out in a bit and pick two more and donate in your name Amera, as well. For you are the spearhead of giving in so many ways.

    Love

    Dad
