Drums of War and Revolution

Blood stains the ground where they fell
But not just them
All who came before them, fighting for justice
Fighting for truth

The cries of the anguished
The cries of the angry
The cries of the wounded
All resonate in waves

Undulating throughout the centuries,
their poignancy ebbs and flows with their relevance
What did we fight for?

This?
I think not.

It is time to pick up the sword of justice
To prepare the bow of knowledge
The arrows of revenge
The dagger of truth


The drums of war are beating within the hearts of the people
But do they hear it?

No
They're tired
They're busy
They're stressed
They don't care


Well they will care
They will see what their ignorance and apathy will cost them
The price of freedom is high, but we the people must band together to pay it and buy it back from those who have stolen it from us




We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed







The consent of the governed.........

    Interesting fact: a clause that originally existed in the first draft of the Declaration of Independence abolishing slavery was removed before the document was published. The original document was highly hypocritical, as it stated that all men were equal, but condoned owning and trading men as property as well.

      I actually did know that, it amazes me how history repeats itself no matter how much we study it. Right now I think it resembles the time of Alexander Hamilton and the High Federalists. I'm also afraid of the direction our country is going...it seems we're becoming more and more of a dictatorship with each new piece of legislation that's passed and each oversight of the government....
