Dear Mr. C.

Just to remind you,
I have been very good this year:
~When Mom scolded me for putting everything on the floor in the closet,
I did not shed a tear.
~I always do my chores
(I vacuum and dust).
~I never yell or scream,
behaving properly is a must.
~I got a hundred
on my history test,
(I must have good grades,
to be the best).
~I got my brother a wonderful new watch
for his birthday gift.
~I never lie or cheat-
or even shoplift.
  So dear Santa,
for being such a lovely girl,
please give me everything
on this list you unfurl.
Please bring me:
~A new doll,
last year's is out of date.
~A brand new ball,
are they supposed to pop when you sit on them?
Another thing,
~how about a laptop?
~Expensive bling?
(A diamond necklace would be nice)
~A watch would be helpful,
to replace one I had to give back.
~A lovely scarf of wool,
would keep me warm all winter.
~New stationary on which to you I write.
~Your address too,
unto me recite.
Santa this is for you!
It is under the tree,
please, oh please,
put these items there for me!
P.S.
Maybe you could show this to Dad,
he can help bring all this stuff inside,
since he brought in presents last year:
late last Christmas I spied.

    this was a very cute poem. I think if i had ever tried to make a christmas list like that when I was a kid my Dad would have run me till I dropped to teach me not to be greedy. Anyways, thanks for entering my contest. Sorry it's taking me so long to judge, but as you may be able to imagine, it takes a while to read so many poems and pick out the very best. Merry belated christmas!

    Cute. Nice job. Good structure. The rhyme was a little off in places but over all a good job.

    It's cute ...

    but there are a number of really good poems in this contest. It's not going to place. I see you've entered it in many contests so you don't need this one anyway. Good luck with the others.

      You do realize ...

      that you can always enter another poem. The contest is set up for unlimited entries.

      However, it is true that I've gotten some really good entries this time and yours would have to knock one of those out of their position as I have them rated now.

    This is so cute! I love the way that you listed
    the things that you wanted and also stated your
    reasons for them. It's very rare that a kid asks
    for something like that. Great job with this one
