Self-Control

The eagle stared, a gleam in her eye
She takes off, her wings expanding in full
Her shadow filled the sky with a subtle glory
With swift moves she glides, high in the air
So controlled, so self aware
At the same time she's free
No ties to keep her bound

As a person is free, so also they must be bound
Independent as they may be, they must also be tied to the ground

This is an interesting poem, the first stanza is a beautiful description of an eagle taking flight, and the contrast of a human, who does have the freedom but will never be able to have that freedom of just taking flight. Beautiful.
