Flying with angels he sees in his nightmares
Falling apart for the people that cared (for him)
Die in degrees with his heart on his sleeve
Hoping to sleep just to talk to the angels
Lives in a world where we never say never
Dies by his words, he believes in forever
Hates where he is, he'd rather be anywhere
Flying with angels he sees in his nightmares
Falling apart for the people that cared (for him)
Die in degrees with his heart on his sleeve
Hoping to sleep just to talk to the angels
Everyone knows that it never comes easy
But nobody said it would get this hard
Only the angels can heal his scars (THIS TIME!)
I'd be happy to die in your arms tonight
I'd melt for you if you'd love me one last time
See what this means?
I'm talking to angels tonight
Flying with angels he sees in his nightmares
Falling apart for the people that cared (for him)
Die in degrees with his heart on his sleeve
Hoping to sleep just to talk to the angels
Dies for today, lives for tomorrow
Swallows his pride, but hes nobody's martyr
He's so alive tonight
[OUTRO]
(HE THOUGHT HE WAS TALKING TO A REAL FUCKING ANGEL!)
Author notes
This was not written to be a suicide song, but a lot of people have told me it seems like one.
Please tell me what you think

i loved this; that's all i need / have to say on the matter i think, and could almost hear it as a song in my mind; i think i took the wrong interpretation from it [as dedicated to a lover / friend that is no longer around, or dying] but nevertheless, it was amazing; like it just flowed none stop, and the message ... oh i couldn't really say what touched me so much about this [apart from the fact that i LOVE poetry about angels x333] but fantastic - well done you!

Sounds like some great lyrics, and I know it always sounds better when it's read/sung to a tune.
I would recommed finding some subtitute words for "angels" so you don't have to use the word in the verses and make it sound repetitive to the chorus. -
I sense the incredible pain of existing in a world where one is not seen or acknowledged for who they are, but for what they must be for others. The paradox is that while they are being what they think they need to be for others, they are losing themselves in that self same search for themselves. The need to be nurtured becomes so strong, it seems it overcomes the need to be an individual, thus life becomes a round of nightmare hope and betrayal. I don't read it as a suicide song, more as a recognition of how seriously the expectation of others impacts on a young soul. Well written.

Thanks, and well thought. You're the first person to realize what the song is truly about. The expectation of others is everything that you pretend to be, which leads to being even more fake to please everyone who has become so close to you, only because you care about them (or think that you do, anyway)
