Stewed.

I had sent messages through the chimney for
the raving raven and witches on their brooms
who blow spells in the sky, for the wicked vampires
with weird taste and pointed teeth.

They came along for supper
with well wrapped waywardly intentions.
I served them chicken soup with spicy feathers
bats stew cooked with sarcasm dished out with a grin.

Party balloons soon deflated,
dark intentions now wrecked,
swiftly all guests escaped faces swollen
“anaphylacticaly” shocked by tasty pink garlic.

I agree with Amphibolia, it's not scary but the imigry is quite bemusing, it makes me smile more than it gives me chills and shiver however it does give me little goosbumps now and then so it's well written, good job.

This is a lot of fun to read - a very whimsical take on the prompt which incorporates the season of October and a little Sendak as host very well. Never heard of pink garlic - must check that out. Thanks for a sprightly entry!

Thank you so much for the silver trophy (for symetry they are the one I need the most so I am very very grateful) especialy I nearly couldn't enter the contest it took me days to find the right idea and to be in the right mood for it as for once I wanted to do something funny.
Well about pink garlic we have a lot in southern France and it has the reputation to be the strongest and tastiest it has as well a light pink colour on the outside when ever i can it is the one i buy as i use garlic extensively in my cooking as well as olive oil.
Thank you again so much this was one of those contest taking me out of my shell. lol

aha! I use a kind of Italian garlic that is a single bulb, like an onion, that is unlike what I knew in the U.S. I'll have to look for this French kind.

Is what you use some kind of "shallots" (not sure about the spelling it looks like an onion but long much smaller, quite pink inside and the tast is like an in between garlic and onion. Garlic is very ggod for the blood circulation generating long life

I use shallots (or green onions as they are also known) in soups but what I am talking about is much bigger and has a dried paper-like outside like a Gladiola corm.

I see well I do not know that one even after 5 years spent in italy, here we have the traditional garlic whit or pink with a head enveloping many spikes...
