[ breathing in the bitter air ]

breathing in the bitter air
that drifts in from the outside
I choke and struggle
I fall,
weightless, if only for a second

waking on the way down,
a jolt of life
from a stolen source

I twist as the resistance
intensifies
eyes snap open
arms reach out,
an effort to break the fall

too terrified to even scream,
the ground moves closer
I prepare for the shattering sound
bone against ground

eyes close again,
ready for the worst
waiting for pain
or something worse

but I fall into
something angels would
rest in
so soft, so warm
surprise landing again
who saved me this time?
what do I owe you now?

wow! I cannot imagine how that would feel. You're falling and falling, and just waiting for the crash to happen. I really love how you ended it with a sweet little twist. Good job!

    Oh Wow!

This is a really moving poem. I like it a whole lot. It's absolutely breath-taking. I swear I was hanging on every word. Anxiousely getting excited about seeing how it ends and how lovely it would be. I love this. Keep up the awesome job.

Thanks. It's weird, but I kind of like it.
