Black earth finds a fertile seed
pulls life giving tendrils
feeding from all things taken;
eternal cycle of the ground.
Palm cupped to catch sweet rain
to her lips as a kiss of freshness
and eyes seen in beauty,
a fountain of caring within;
and eyes, that have seen
worlds grown dark; finding
sulphur strike of pain
yet lifting light even to veiled night;
and following sun,
eyes finding sunrise, rosined skies
fingers through darkness and heart
in lightness rises too, ascendant day.
Rich earth finds dark red rose
life sends needful hand
in the cycle of loss and love;
now to breathe, flowering hope.

Amazing - to derive this from such a picture... well done.
You have such beautiful imagery within; sulphur strike of pain, fingers through darkness and heart - though I don't like 'kiss of freshness'. A line I feel too overused and thus does not carry weight, and definitely not so much as to contend with the rest of this piece.
I very much enjoyed it, thank you. -
Beautiful Analogy
Beautiful imagery all throughout the growing process, the greatest words were "needful hand in the cycle of loss and love: now to breathe, flowering hope....Roses need a tending hand to be as beautiful as they are...Pruning, fertilizer, even trellises to help them stand upright......How like ourselves...we are not self sufficient we need tending to help us come to our full beauty and bloom..
