Pedestal prophesies purged from paradox's quarry
hastily erected in shadowy confusion
amnesia legacy unable to recall the hands
who built the towering edifice or meaning
for divine names etched in its side,
scratched out and replaced
each time a new Elysium mood seduces.
Sketchbook scrolls of dogma doodles
created by unknown artist,
scrawl the pontification game rules in chalk
so they can be erased
any time a deity's portrait loses face
because somebody lifted the liturgical veil
and saw the contradiction cracks
air brushed sermonizing never removes.
Another pillared soap box archway to paradise
gets built with claims
it is the true passport to deliverance.
Alabaster feigned purity rises in its behemoth facade
until one can't see the top
where they claim halos wait for those
that agreed with the laws which ever evolve
being revised by myopic, demented scribes.
Ethereal effigies get carved as immortal voice,
while reverent ventriloquists utter their imitations
of ominous omniscient oratories.
Leading throngs into maze of ecumenical finger pointing
shining its candles for spiritual medicinal blessings.
Judgment Day paranoia incense secretly emitted in air,
causing panic and confusion
while secretly some wonder
if Chicken Little wasn't a messiah.
