There is a poem

There is a poem

with
words that find you a cabin
when lost in winter,

arms that will embrace a stranger;

a poem written for only you to light

and sighs,
as you warm your body
against its flame.

    Boffo!

Reading this I just shake my head and laugh. There's not a seam you slip a criticsm through, not a better word, line break or layout.
Hang this one on the wall.
    Congratulations, Tara.

this is outstanding work ... the format is striking, and perfect ... it looks like thoughts forming and floating, and is elegant in appearance ... the poem itself is so easy to read, i flashed through it and picked up its beauty in an incredibly easy way ... you final stanza is stunning

yes, again, professional and publishing quality

two trophies, you won two trophies ... of course, i wouldn't want to go up against this tome at all

    powerful and beautiful

Love the metaphor here, Tara... there is indeed a poem where one can hide and find shelter in. It reminds me of a poem by one of my favourite South African poets (Ingrid Jonker) and roughly translated it means something like "to put myself away in a poem". So often love is a poem in itself too... Lovely, soft touch here!

We all seem to wander from time to time and need to know there is a warm fire waiting. This is a very tender and heart felt poem, very good.

I will throw in another log.

    against its flame...

So true! Some (a very few) poems are like that! When you read them you feel a kindred spirit with the author. And you can bask in their warmth... This is such a poem! Bravo!

This is a poem that speaks in strings
tones to tell of quarternotes and candles,
    quivering finger to arpeggio's mixing
as sound spills soul to kindred melting.

    I really liked this alot....thanks

Now. You have writer's block and you write like THIS?!! Whoa. Awesome. Now, I wish I had writer's block so that I could write something brilliant like this. Purely awesome. No seriously, this is absolutely beautiful. Let me see what I can weave for Rich's contest.

Magnifico! I love the brevity and the touch of words in this piece. Truthfully said my friend. Poems are the most misunderstood language by many. People often see it as for a certain group of individuals only. The words of a poem will always embrace a soul.

"Poetry is a gist of life taken as a written language of photography"

Thanks for sharing my friend. I wish you all the best.

    Keep writing
