Can you hear the soft whistle of the breeze?
The dancing sway of the serene palms lost in the universe?
Can you see the gentle lapping waves that cascade across the crimson line?
Do you feel the soft sand weaving perplexedly under your hands?
Her voice is lulling, as gentle as a broken breeze
Her body is lithe and graceful as a dancing swan,
Tentatively, shyly, she dares to touch, to feel.
Can you feel her skin, lush and soft as the grass on which you lay?
What beauty doeth she hold?
To stop, to learn; to breath, to Live?
To have emotions rolling across us,
They're as plentiful as the stars that run across the heavens.
Her ivory complexion, and deep jungle hue,
It is as if they are hallucinating, so beautiful is she.
She makes them thus, and they tremble in her glorious beauty.
Her eyes are kindred, full, compelling...
She does not know, therefore she is alien.
That is why she is brave, wonderful, woman.
To be unique is a wonderful thing,
To be different is a dangerous quest.
But with swift, cunning fingers she heals,
And with gentle lips she caresses the needy.
Her name is Sea
And her name is Desert.
… Sisters…

a wonderful piece. loved it- you lost the rhythm in some parts, but that's okay because you picked up right after. such a joy to read this. I loved the start, reminded me of the simplicities, the little beautiful moments in our short lives.
I love the depth you brought in and the sense of beauty you added throughout. A great piece of poetry dear..do keep penning! Great work

The facets of nature's smiling embrace, world within world to hold as one...these shimmering sounds that guide our fingers , filling page with feathered singers...lovely

Beautiful
I really liked the whole idea and concept of this poem. I really enjoyed the way you were comparing the sea and the desert, two opposites, as sisters, but they are similar in one way, they are both beautiful. You used great wording. I just really liked it!! Well done and good luck with the contest!!
