Today And Everyday

Missing image
Brushed up against a memory,
wind I felt yet did not see.
Thoughts of you flooding my mind,
so tightly held they now unwind.

Upside down twist the hourglass,
once again let memories pass.
Each grain of sand a speck in time,
together grandiose sublime.

Turned the corner on past the why?
remembrances still make me cry.
In my chest I still feel you near,
with every heartbeat you are here.

Creep into my mind and caress,
my disguised pain and loneliness.
Empty place once shared with glee,
my first born son not here with me.

Heavenly traveler that you be,
now living life eternally.
You are in my thoughts today,
everyday since you went away.

Author notes

    Beautiful!

Dear Sandygram, I cannot imagine the grief of a Mother for the loss of a child.

'Creep into my mind and caress,
    my disguised pain and loneliness.
Empty place once shared with glee,
my first born son not here with me.'

The memory of his love comforts the pained place.
I imagine that he is never gone but always right in the nook of your heart. This is a beautiful poem. Jane

This is beautiful. It reminds me of my love. He was taken suddenly as well in a car accident on July 29, 2005.
I hope you find solace in knowing that he is in a better place. It is hard to move on when losing one so dear. I myself am still lost in the past and my own sorrow; I hope you do not dwell on such things as I have.
Best of luck in the contest.
