A silky moon disappears
on your delicious body
filling my curving reflection
with lurid desire
for you
But it wasn't my flesh you were after
though that was still sufficiently pleasing
to the eye
Why do you love me, said I
Because of your soul, said you
I was tarnished and blurred
but you dug in deep
found the gold
you found what I could not see
dusted me off and wiped me down
How did you get past
my usual sabatoge
The block I went around was long
My mind
a neighborhood that shouldn't be traveled
alone
It is you who is the beautiful one, I say
And now we watch the Northern Lights chortle
as our desire patiently crashes
into insane hopes
of peace and love
We can tavel to yesterday
where we laughed and cried
We'll watch the dew
disolve into the morning light
We can travel to today
and contemplate the meaning
of life, share ice cream
and a full moon
We can travel to tomorrow
hold hands and dream
