Where The Rainbow Ends

I knew it was my time today
I really had to go
I'm sorry that I left you Momma
Please know I love you so

When your sad and missing me
Always keep in mind
Forever I am in your heart
Just for you to find

The day will come, you will see
You'll hold me once again
I'll meet you where the rainbow ends
I promise, my loving friend...

Author notes

this reminded me of how someone's child died before them. although i know how losing a pet feels, i try to hold back my tears from not only this but my other pets too

Like hit my heart---not my head--always a good thing

There--to me--is nothing more powerfull than love, of any kind. And this taps into it 4sure---husband, wife, lover, family, friends---it's what poetry is ment to be. and u nailed it. : )

That rhythm and rhyme and flow is great in these lines - easy to read and understand what is happening here. Pets become part of our family and especially if they have been with us a long time, we certainly do miss them when they are gone.

this is a beautiful piece, one that anyone who has known the hardship that accompanies the loss of a pet can relate to. I've always been around animals, be they pets, wildlife or part of my "ranch inventory". I too believe that those that we lose, be they human or animal will be reunited with again when our time here is finished. A very enjoyable piece. Well done!

We all come from a single source
    and there we will return
For this but a stop in life
    with lessons to be learned

We rise and fall like ocean
as a body of just one
As we move among the current
    between the moon and sun

Our heart grows dim at passing
    Sadness is in the loss
    Emotions too are falling
as among it's waves are tossed

    But with each storm encountered
    the rainbows seen at end
    And when this cycles finished
    we'll meet round yonder bend

    Hugs...Eddy
