The Passing of Time, Freewrite

Everyone I know has a birthday every year. That means I do, too. What do birthdays signify? Are they necessary? The days seconds minutes hours years of our lives pass so quickly. There's so much to be done! So much to share with loved ones! So many projects before my final breath!!

Deep down  inside I feel as I did when I was five years old...still feeling the joy of life as I did then. Life, I love you!! You have given me everything I need and more. The joy I felt as a child remains.

What is growing up?? I don't know except that it entails certain happy responsibilites. GO Life!! GO Love!! You fill me up. Growing up or growing old?
Never do it!!

there is an explanation; it is in Ecclesiates. Third chapter, 11th verse. 'he has placed eternity in the hearts of men; yet they do not understand his plans from beginning to end' . Our hearts run on eternity's time... Why we feel young inside and wonder, "Where did the time go?" The verses 1-9 are the famous "For every thing there is a season" The band the 'Byrds" recorded a song in the sixties based on it.

The thoughts were expressed quite clearly but I was a little taken aback because it's not in poetic form. :-p

Regardless, everyday is a birthday for we're reborn with each sunrise!

Hmm, not what I expected from this contest, a little much on the happyness for my current mood, but not too bad.

very cute--- i also agree. growing up would mean a bland future for me... although it doesn't seem it now, all of the excitement is at school, where my friends are. and i know they have different interests and the majority of them WILL be seperated into different work-ethics. <:/

i loved this, i really did!! there's just the tidbit that you used the word "day" twice in the secon line. ^_^ only telling you. other than that, awsome!! a very good write

    Hahahaha

I agree, I never want to "grow up". I want to be the young at heart adult I am now.

Wonderful! I feel older then my years sometimes but my heart remains as it was as a child! Life weathers us but our hearts age us! Or so I believe!

Oh. This is a fun little poem that you have here. It really did seem like a free write because you just 'freed' all your thoughts and let them fly to the page just as you thought them. I think it's great to just let go sometimes and I liked the postive edge of your message to love life to the fullest. I think it's great.

    thought provoking

I have always felt that everyday is someone's birthday, so why not celebrate everyday? We celebrate life choosing our friends to surround ourselves. Our friends are the family we do get to choose. Celebrate their loyalty and commitment to you. include them in your life everyday. Give unto them what they need and what you can and be sure to take what they have to offer. We have only one guarantee when we enter this 'ole world and we all know what that is......we WILL leave it someday. Thanks for the thought provoking write. I too have been the same person inside sense I was a lad. Keep up the good work.

Yes, even when we look at ourselves in the mirror and see this older person looking back at us, we still feel as young as we always have. That inside part does not change. Growing up or growing old?? W are only as old as we feel.

Well, Happy Birthday to you! I have a birthday coming up in just a few days, I'll be 25. After all the hardships I've been through recently I wasn't really looking forward to this one. But you are right in what you say here. You seem to be wise in days, but time has given you life, not slowed you down. It was very encouraging to read this. I wish I could just give you a big hug, and say thanks. Keep living life to the fullest!
