How do I tell you I love you, when the word love seems so small?
And yet everything I feel seems much too much to contain.
You are the one I rush home for, with all the excitement of a child on Christmas Eve
Just because it’s been hours since I herd your voice
And I can’t wait to tell you I miss you
You’re the one I want to share my good news with, and it’s you I want to tell about my day, and I can’t wait to hear all about yours.
You’re my best friend, the keeper of all my secrets and the only one I need when the world seems a little to much to handle alone,
You are always there for me,
My strength when I’m just not strong enough
My wisdom when I’m not quite so sure
My shoulder, when I didn’t listen to you (again) and it all went wrong
My rock, who never says “I told you so” but instead offers support and listens to me always,
You are my laughter, the ever present sunshine in my day
As I stand beside the lake and watch the sunrise, it’s not the beauty of that moment
But the thought of one day seeing it with you that makes me smile,
As I walk to work, my music blaring in my ears
It’s not the tune that puts that spring in my step, but the sweet echo of your voice
Telling me you love me.
As I lay in my bed and drift to sleep, it’s you that I reach for.
I recall your soft kiss, passion filled moments between us
The feel of bodies together, how perfectly we fit because it was always meant to be.
Every moment of my day, every day of my life, you are with me
No longer me, but we, us always
My forever is in your eyes,
As I look at you, is it reflected from mine? Is that what you tell me with your beautiful smile?
Then maybe “I love you” is enough
Because everything else, you already know
