Thoughtless clouds dimming my day
heedless rain drops deny my choices
winds find chilling spots; bend and sway
silence ‘pon tiny treetop voices
then comes One whose beauty glistens
in inner glows, time slows and slips
winds pause, tree choir listens
words, fall as melodies from her lips
a song of splendor so lightly begins.
Dark occults beauty in rich black eclipse.
Falling waters and misted air sweetens,
dark red roses and honeysuckle drips;
Such loveliness found reflected from within
there does beauty step to softly invite
pale shadows to embrace once again
bathed in stardust and bright moon light;
‘neath mortal cloak where mystery sits, in
caring soul, life’s wonder and delight;
beauty walks within her, she is gentle night
and day will dwell in most impatient sight.

A worthy winner, beautiful style; great words.

She Walks in Beauty! A Lord Byron allusion I would never miss!
In all seriousness, this is a masterpiece . . . the meter, tempo and flow are well planned and designed. You have described the beauty within the 'dark' that is so fitting with the wanning daylight hours approaching. No need for a "Clean, Well-lighted Place."

Wow, this is incredible, such lush imagery here. Liked "Thoughtless clouds dimming my day
heedless rain drops deny my choices". Excellent write, best of luck in the contest!

This is beautiful and reminds me of the poetry of yore days. There are lines here that sing, lines that sway the reader with lulling, and lines that tie the tongue. You have it all poet, and I wish you the very best in this challenge. Simply beautiful!
Much Love & Many Blessings ♥
