The emptiness of the void consumed all but the light,
Which had to the strength to struggle free from the shadow's decimation.
Everything had vanished.
Worlds, planets, stars, rings.
All devoured by the vacant umbra that left nothing,
Nothing, but blackness in its wake.
Yet, the smallest hint of a faint aurora still remained, and with that
Came the minuscule allure of hope.
So long as the star stayed aglow,
All had not been lost.

This is a very deep and thought provoking write. I am just wondering about the second line, my brain just couldn't make sense of it, but that could be me!
