Another day comes along
End of the week, it is Sunday
Let’s get set, ready and go
It’s church time
Praise the good lord
We must if we need to survive
Parents tell this tale every time
All well dressed
To spend some quality time
With the family and friends
Before the good Lord
The mass has begun
Already late to attend
But God forgives now just like the last time
Say the prayers
Sung the holy hymns
Verses are read from the Holy Scriptures
Originally written when
No one knows for sure
But we have a guided path set for us
Only this the modern version
Changed sever times, over the generations
With the meaning lost in the translation
Ringing church bells
Listening to God’s worker
Our own local Priest
There to help us, guide us
Through every tough time comes before us
No wonder, they never let us
Forget the past of suppression
Color is defined in every progression
The religion is divided amongst the crowd
So, go save the souls, we are told
Stand by your brothers and sisters
Which are defined clearly by color
Fight the demons they repeatedly say
Anyone who is not our religion’s follower
Is a demon standing in flesh
Who needs to be freed from themselves
So go fight the battle against humankind
In the name of our Lord, our Savior
For only then you shall find your way
Back to heaven in the arms of God
Adrenaline pumped into varicose veins
With the spoken truth from God’s sent angel
Ready to fight the world in every way
So we can purchase our ticket to heaven
Why go far, let’s begin right here
I’ve so much to tell to others
I’ve got the list to share
All the bitching about that woman
Who ran away with someone
Leaving her kids behind
With a lonesome man
I’ve got a better news for you
The one in blue always so uptight
Is having an affair
With the wife of his friends
There kids’ lives are ruined
They are obnoxious and rude
Really! I knew it all along
I’d seen them together on several occasions
Here’s the big kicker
His teenager son is sleeping around
With his mom’s friend
How sick is that?
That’s disgusting, for sure
While they’ve no clue what so ever
Where are there kids heading to.
She’s hot, check her out
The woman in red
She’s got what we want
Baby come to daddy!
She’s ok but the girl moved next door
She’s something I tell
Too friendly, if you get my drift
I sure want to be her friend in deed
Only if I could let my wife
Go visit her family
If not long enough, for few days
It’s time to get home
Back to fighting, bickering
Cussing & just being a happy family
Picture perfect Sunday
Holy, God fearing family
Just doing what they believe in
Do God’s work, fight the world
Be Lord’s savior and fight off the demons
They’re found all around
Freak show, is it? Or it is
It’s up to you to decide it
Be a savior fight the demons
Just where could you find them
Is also for you to decide
But one thing is for sure
You cannot find them anywhere
But within yourself, deep inside
Laughing at our actions
…just laughing at us…

I know this one
This is more truth then freak. Never thought about it much But now you mkae me remmember. I like this one alot. It may be just the one. placed somewhere in the middle to make the reader come all undone. Conflict thought. It'll piss some off, make others chuckle and more think back trying to see remembering. Ah yes a perfect mind teaser. Save this one out.

I have often witnessed many a hypocrite within the house of the Lord!! They stand around casting stones all the while acting like they are purity itself.. You did a great job conveying the double edged sword that is church!

but sure try my best not to be, that is what counts, as long as we make that conscious effort to avoid doing that... But often I've seen this that too adults who should know better but then I see the kids in such places, I often wonder we got to learn so much from kids.. Brilliant
I thought that this was just great. Who knows what thoughts run through peoples minds when attending church. The battles that must go on within them must be never-ending. Temptations run rife as the priest gives his sermon.
Hmm, I wonder if the neighbor needs to borrow another cup of sugar? She is hot? I wonder what he is doing tonight, probably with his wife, shopping now. So many many thoughts of many people as they stand in church.
Hypocrites, yes, but does it not say that the devil attends church too? After all, the devil was there at the Crucifixion of Jesus. Brilliant write.
