Dearest love, why haven't I found you?
I wished for years upon the stars
swam the deepest seas for you
only to drown in tears.
Alone forever,
my love is but
a lonely
blood-red
rose.

I've walked the heavens and the earth.

my grieving heart is
impaled upon
the deadly
stake of
love.

Option 2: Triple Nonet

The title is the Italian word for "loneliness".

I don't typically write form poetry, so I hope I did this right! Enjoy!

    That was so smooth to read. It flowed so effortlessly and that final sentence is heart wrenching. The 'impaled on a deadly stake of love' part is particularly crippling. Wow. Best of luck in your contest.

    Why does each stanza look like a vagina? HAHA! Just kidding, Mistress. I don't do form either, but, as usual, you can do something I can't...Gosh, I can't wait to go to Canada. "OH, CANADA..." That's all I know.

    Wow~ The counts are perfect... I also caught the affect of the font getting a little larger for each stanza giving it a really clever form. Noticed the intensity builds. I understood the italian version of the word, thought you might had gone italian with some of the wording... even having parts in italian would had been over the top... I just travelled to italy so, I studied enough to get through the streets.... A couple of merchants didn't even know I was from the U.S. when I told them they were surprised. So, I guess those Language CD's paid off....

    I really enjoyed the write~ I like the layout overall you did a beautiful job~ we all are searchin' except those lucky ones who found that special one.
