Lost Boy, Could Not Dream

The evening looked dampened
By the rain from the day
And the little boys crowded around
Some poor kid's grave-

A lightning bolt struck down from the sky
And it was captured by your little eye
And you illuminate the world wherever you go
The trees are on fire, we make to the road-

And if we were ever to pass each other again
I will close my eyes to keep from going blind
Just whisper to me the words that you like
And I'll draw you an image on the sea tonight-

The morning dew, sleeping on my nose
The brush is alive with a dozen hungry crows
Toss the bread to the water and let the birds grow
I'll kneel down in the dirt and get acquainted with my home-

We dip our feet off the dock into the water
The seawed tickles our feet, the fish nibble at our toes
And you're so young, where did the waves on your face escape to?
Have they washed upon my beachy flesh?-

The lost boy could not dream, he never slept
And we listened to his stories until everything dissolved
And when we woke up, he would be gone
Listening to the bird's sing their morning songs-

I dove into a pile of rusted leaves
And found the tiny insects crawling over me
Your snakes fell on top of my light
And swallowed it all, making the night-

And in the night, no light step lurks past my bed
Without my eyes widening like the sea
And the boy springs from calm waters unto me
His eyes are hurricanes destroying the beach

Please tell me what you think
