That Sea-Faring Jeremy Dell, part one (an epic)

One night a man set sail,
though winds and rains assailed,
into the bleakness of the sea.
Who knows? He could have died,
but as for me I've tried,
to take a guess at where he be!

He's many tales to tell,
sea-faring Jeremy Dell!
That scalawag who rules the deep!
Tell you a story, then?
You wish to hear again
That buccaneer the sea can't keep?

Oh, fine, come sit right here,
come closer, do come near,
I'll tell of that good ol' shipmate!
This may be sad sometimes,
it ain't for weaker minds,
this tale that I'm due to relate!

One night as rains befell,
sea-faring Jeremy Dell
did set sail in the Aunt Marie
to visit lands unknown,
at sea-- yes all alone,
sometimes with joy or misery!

That night the storm died down,
he looked and saw the town
fading into the distance far.
He smiled his toothy smile.
"Won't be back for a while!
First thing to do is get a scar!"

He sailed to Pirate Isle
and ventured with a smile
unto its craggy, rocky shore.
He killed a pirate there,
with only a piercing stare,
and shouted, "Pirates, gimme more!"

He took his cutlass out,
swung 'round and about,
and screeched a bird-call lound and clear,
The pirates drew their swords,
and charged at him in hordes,
but Jeremy's eyes ne'r showed of fear!

And though he didn't die,
he got slashed 'cross the eye,
that pirate killer from afar!
And he said "there 'ya go!
now all the folks will know
that I killed pirates, by my scar!"

He took their treasure, then--
wealth beyond measure, then,
loading it on the Aunt Marie.
Then he set sail once more
unto another shore,
to another adventure, did he!

He sailed for forty days
on ocean's languor ways,
on lazy waves and clumsy sea.
And then the rains came 'long,
the winds and waves were strong,
but that ne'r stopped ol' Jeremy!

"The next thing that I need,
in my Quest of Greed,
is the sword of some ad-ver-sa-ry!
I'll find a man to kill,
then take his sword at will,
and set sail on the Aunt Marie!"

And so he set sail then--
adventure once again,
to find a sword he did set sail!
But as he neared the shelf,
Jeremy found himself
being attacked by a great whale!

The creature opened wide,
and some say that he died,
That old sea-faring Jeremy Dell!
But children, listen close,
please do remain engrossed,
for there's still much of him to tell!

Please tell me what you think

He got eaten by a whale! Sounds a bit like MOby Dick, eh? Hope he didn't die because I want to hear more about this pirate
