&& she kept expecting for things that were never to come.
She kept expecting her prince to call for her but he never did.
&& now she’s left with headaches && sorrow as her pale skin dies.
She’s now known as the moron whose hair flattered the lie.
Oh Rampunzel how dimwitted are you,
You allowed him to mock you,
&& leave you in pain.
Headaches && nauseas now torture your veins.
Forgotten he left you, && took the beauty of your soul.
Drank it in one bite && yet he called it love.
&& she gave him everything even her last breath,
While he stood her up && went with another to bed.
She expected great things that lately were never shown,
She became a part of you as you became a part of her.
He walked away forgetting he left something behind.
Oh she forgot to mention she was expecting a child of his.
Now she’s torn up in her tower being reminded of her mistake,
As her belly keeps growing she doesn’t know what drug to take.
All her fantasies were lonely roads she’s obligated to forsake,
&& all for the cause of a promise she swore she’d never break.
She swore to never believe in guys,
She swore to never give in,
She always restrains her self in disguise,
She always said she wouldn’t be his.
&& looks at her, they way she ended,
A huge mistake that might never be mended,
She’s just so empty; she’s just so lost,
She’s just a shadow on the wall.
Rampunzel, Rampunzel, let down your hair,
I want to give you something that will end our affair.
Rampunzel, Rampunzel, don’t be a fool,
Didn’t it ever occur to you I used you like a tool?
Rampunzel, Rampunzel, where are you now?
I call, and I scream and I shout, but you won’t come down.
What have you done? Where have you been?
Everything I said was an empty lie,
I was obligated to say ugly things,
You witch wouldn’t let me hold you tight,
Now today you leave,
Today we die…

This was amazing.
So often we forget promises we made to ourselves, because we're captured by a smile or a lie.
Thank you for sharing this with me. -
The story of Rapunzel was on of my favorites as a child. I couldn't understand why Disney never made that one into a movie! This was really really good. I loved it! Everything about the poem was perfect... however if I may suggest one thing that doesn't even have to do with the poem... I think you could probably find a better Rapunzel than that!
But yeah other than that EVERYTHING about this was GREAT! Thank you for entering and good luck.
