Tears burn
the back of her eyes
he doesn't know
shes crying.
He sees the
fake smiles.
The ones she
paints on
daily.
She begs to
be happy.
Her heart
will not believe it.
She wants to
believe its perfect.
She knows hes leaving.
He tells her its forever.
Forever doesn't exist.
Internally she begs
him to stay.
He hasn't left yet
She pleads to believe.
But they always do
her heart replies.
She wishes for peace.
Its a constant battle.
She knows hes different
But shes afraid.
Afraid of letting go.
Afraid of the consequences.
She looks at him.
Puzzled.
Like no other, the
pain he can cause her.
He will leave.
No she pleads inside.

She cries to be happy
she wants him to stay,
Her heart wont let that suffice.
